First, thank you for your commitment to growth here at Grace. I am so excited about the positive effect that your active involvement in Grace Groups will have on your life.
Second, I really want all of us to prayerfully consider our personal investment in Grace Groups. Please don't just consider it as another program, but as a vital part of ministry that everyone needs to be connected to. Let's not do small group ministry just to build community, but to transform ourselves and grow through community.
And lastly, through our small group system, we have developed a ministry environment that gives everyone an opportunity to be connected. The commitments are broken down into semesters to allow for changing schedules and varied interest. We also have 5 different types of groups to connect with. There are serving, sharing, support, study and seasonal groups that offer a wide range of opportunities for every member to be a part of. Use this page to find a group that interest you and prayerfully make a commitment today. Then contact that group leader and get involved. Through this vital ministry, we are a church that is growing closer to God and closer to each other. Get connected and find out where you fit in!
Group Types
1. Sharing Groups
Focus - These are "relational groups." These groups focus on being a group. Spiritual and/or social relationships among the members are primary. Traditional "Grace Groups" is another name for these. Much growth and ministry take place in these groups as members give one another their love, care and concern week after week.
2. Study Groups
Focus- This group emphasizes "topical studying" through bible study or studying of specific topics such as Sign Language, Music, Cooking, Cake Decorating, etc. This also includes our Wednesday Night adult classes.
3. Seasonal Groups
Focus- These are "recreational groups." Activity, fun and competition are all part of these groups. Basketball, baseball, golf, racquetball, horseback riding, tennis, Monday Night Football are all examples of this type of group. Creativity is key for these groups.
4. Support Groups
Focus - These are "recovering groups." The primary reason underlying this group is a common need among the members. Members meet together for common encouragement and understanding. Spouses of deployed soldiers, divorced singles and recovering alcoholics are examples of this type of group.
5. Serving Groups
Focus - These are groups that "serve the body and the community." The primary thrust is to accomplish a specific task such as: helps, nursery, outreach, visitation, music, etc... Serving people is the heart of these groups.
